This pattern is part of The Witch & Wizard Academy Primer YEAR 2.11.99 USD (5 knitting pattern E-book.)
Reading the tea leaves – Climb the spiral stairs dearies. We are going to have our first tasseomancy lesson! Tasseomancy is the art of reading tea leaves. This pattern is homework for Divination class in The Witch & Wizard Academy Primer Year 2. These long scrunchy arm warmers will keep you feeling cozy as you study your cup. After you tip your teacup, I will show you how to make a study of finding your future in the leaf patterns left behind. It’s just a bit of fun really! Don’t worry, reading the leaves is harmless… unless you have the grim… which you probably do, but really that just means you have a lovely godparent looking over you. Now I must move on to my knitting, my inner eye is beginning to cloud!

Finished blocked measurements flat: 4.25 (5) inches wide at forearm, 3 (3.75) inches wide at wrist, 3.5 (4.25) inches wide at knuckles x 16” long. These gloves have quite a bit of negative ease, which means they stretch!

Tension/gauge: Work 32 sts to measure 4” in stockinette stitch using US 1 or 2.25 mm needles with MC. Row gauge won’t matter, but please use the needle size you need to get stitch gauge. If you knit tightly you might want to try going up a needle size to get gauge.
Notions: A pair of US 1 (2.25mm) straight needles, tapestry needle, safety pin or lock stitch markers. Remember needle sizes are just suggestions, always use the needles you personally need to obtain gauge.

Start here with the pattern notes: These fingerless gloves are knitted flat, starting at the forearm. Gloves are then worked to the knuckles using decreases and increases for shaping, and then the chart is worked. Gloves are then seamed up using mattress stitch leaving a hole for the thumb. These gloves are meant to be super slouchy so they look best when they are allowed to bunch up a little bit.
